Orks: Big'ed Bossbunka - Warhammer 40,000
PARAMETERS:
Orks: Big'ed Bossbunka is a brutal command fortification built from the severed head of an Ork Gargant and packed with weapons, loudspeakers and crude mechanical details.
Product description
Give your Warboss a suitably imposing place from which to command the Waaagh! with the Big'ed Bossbunka, a heavily armed Ork fortification created from the head of a repurposed Gargant.
The model combines thick scrap-metal armour, jagged plates, exposed machinery and a huge Ork face into a distinctive battlefield structure. A tall bosspole fitted with a powerful public address system allows the Warboss to shout orders at nearby Boyz, whether they are listening or not.
The Big'ed Bossbunka is armed with a big shoota and the Gaze of Gork, an unusual weapon constructed from a jet engine hammered into one of the Gargant's eye sockets.
A command post for an Ork Warboss
Ork Warbosses are rarely interested in remaining still, but a massive armoured bunker provides an excellent position from which to direct a large and unruly horde.
The open upper section provides space for Ork infantry miniatures, allowing the fortification to be displayed as a crowded command post filled with shouting Boyz, Nobz or a particularly ambitious Warboss.
Its towering bosspole and loudspeaker system reinforce the model's role as the centre of an Ork position, while the heavily armoured Gargant head gives it a suitably intimidating presence.
Big shoota and Gaze of Gork
The Big'ed Bossbunka features a large big shoota capable of adding even more noise and gunfire to an Ork defensive position.
The Gaze of Gork is built from a salvaged jet engine forced into the eye socket of the Gargant head. This crude conversion perfectly reflects the Ork approach to engineering, where dangerous machinery is considered more useful when it is larger, louder and pointed directly at the enemy.
The combination of weapons, armour and exposed technology gives the model a strong visual identity without requiring separate weapon configurations.
Repurposed Gargant head
The fortification is constructed from the massive head of a destroyed or dismantled Ork Gargant.
Its enormous jaw, armoured brow, metal teeth and reinforced facial plates create a structure that is immediately recognisable as Ork architecture.
Rather than allowing valuable scrap to go to waste, the greenskins have turned the head into a command bunker, weapons platform and status symbol for the Warboss occupying it.
Detailed Ork scenery model
The Big'ed Bossbunka is covered with rivets, scrap-metal panels, cables, pipes, exhausts, glyphs and crude repairs.
These surfaces provide excellent opportunities for painting rusted metal, chipped Clan colours, soot, oil stains, glowing weapon effects and rough Ork markings.
Individual armour panels can be painted in different colours to emphasise the improvised construction, while checks, dags, glyphs and warning symbols can be added throughout the model.
Battlefield and display possibilities
The model can be used as a distinctive Ork fortification, a thematic piece of battlefield scenery or the central feature of a larger greenskin display board.
Its open platform can be populated with suitable Ork miniatures, while the surrounding area can be decorated with ammunition, scrap, barricades, fuel barrels or additional mechanical debris.
The large vertical shape also makes the Bossbunka an effective visual landmark on a Warhammer 40,000 battlefield.
Background
Big'ed Bossbunkas are created from the severed heads of Ork Gargants and converted into personal command posts for powerful Warbosses.
They allow a greenskin leader to observe the battlefield, shout orders through an extremely loud speaker system and remind nearby Boyz who is in charge.
Any enemy attempting to approach the fortification must contend with its heavy armour, big shoota and the destructive energy projected by the Gaze of Gork.
The structure is both a practical defensive position and a symbol of status, since few Orks can claim to command their Waaagh! from inside the head of a former Gargant.
