Orks: Killa Kans - Warhammer 40,000
PARAMETERS:
Orks: Killa Kans contains three compact Ork walkers piloted by aggressive Gretchin and equipped with crude ranged weapons, brutal mechanical arms and extensive decorative parts.
Product description
Add a mob of noisy, heavily armed walkers to your Ork army with this multipart plastic Killa Kans set for Warhammer 40,000.
Each Killa Kan is a crude armoured machine built around a cramped cockpit containing a Gretchin pilot. Protected by thick metal plates and encouraged by the strength of their mechanical bodies, these normally cowardly greenskins become considerably more dangerous once sealed inside their walkers.
The set contains three Killa Kans with varied cockpit designs, close-combat weapons and ranged weapon components. Numerous glyphs, armour plates, horns, metal teef and hanging accessories can be distributed between the models to give every walker a distinctive appearance.
Three ramshackle Ork walkers
Killa Kans are smaller than many other Ork war machines, but their compact bodies are still covered with armour plates, pistons, exhausts and crude weapon systems.
The three cockpit designs allow the models to look noticeably different while maintaining the shared appearance of a disorderly mechanical mob.
The walkers can be posed advancing together, turning towards separate targets or raising their mechanical weapons as they close with the enemy.
Crude ranged weaponry
The kit includes a big shoota, rokkit launcha and skorcha, providing three distinctive Ork weapon designs for the unit.
The big shoota features an oversized firearm appearance suited to sustained greenskin gunfire, while the rokkit launcha adds an unmistakable explosive weapon system.
The skorcha has a fuel-fed design associated with the Orks' enthusiasm for flames, smoke and destruction at close range.
The supplied weapons can be distributed between the three Killa Kans according to the components included in the box.
Mechanical close-combat weapons
Three different close-combat weapon designs are included, giving each walker its own brutal mechanical arm.
The oversized blades, claws and crushing mechanisms reinforce the appearance of machines designed to tear through armour, smash obstacles and batter anything unfortunate enough to approach them.
Combining different cockpit fronts, weapon arms and poses allows every Killa Kan to be given an individual silhouette.
Extensive Ork customisation
The set includes a large selection of decorative components such as glyphs, additional armour plates, horns, metal teef and hanging trophies.
These parts can be attached across the walkers to create machines associated with a shared Clan or three individually customised constructions built by different Meks.
The rough and modular design also makes the models suitable for conversions using spare Ork weapons, armour pieces and mechanical components from other kits.
Detailed mechanical design
The Killa Kans combine riveted armour plates, exposed pistons, crude engines, cables, exhaust pipes and unevenly constructed weapon mounts.
The models provide excellent opportunities for painting rusted metal, chipped Clan colours, oil stains, soot, scratched armour and badly maintained machinery.
Individual panels can be painted in different colours to emphasise their salvaged construction, while Ork glyphs and checks can be added to personalise the complete mob.
The large 60mm round bases also provide space for rubble, scrap metal, rocks, discarded ammunition or other battlefield details.
Background
Killa Kans are small Ork walkers usually piloted by Gretchin who have volunteered, or been persuaded, to undergo extensive mechanical surgery.
Once connected to a heavily armoured machine, a Gretchin gains the strength and protection normally denied to members of its species.
The experience often makes Killa Kan pilots far more aggressive than ordinary Grots, although they still prefer to attack in groups and remain close to larger Ork war machines.
Ork Meks construct each walker from salvaged armour, crude engines and whatever weapons are available, ensuring that few Killa Kans look exactly alike.
