Orks: Mek Gun - Warhammer 40,000
PARAMETERS:
Orks: Mek Gun is a characterful artillery set that combines unstable greenskin technology with a six-strong crew of long-suffering Grots.
Product description
Add some unpredictable heavy firepower to your Ork army with a Mek Gun, a large field weapon assembled from scrap metal, unstable machinery and the questionable inventions of Ork Meks.
The kit builds one artillery piece with a crew of six Grots responsible for loading ammunition, adjusting machinery and trying to remain clear of any unexpected explosions.
The Mek Gun can be assembled in one of four configurations: a bubblechukka, smasha gun, traktor kannon or kustom mega-kannon. Each version has a distinctive weapon assembly and creates a noticeably different appearance for the completed model.
Bubblechukka
The bubblechukka is one of the strangest weapons created by Ork Meks. Its large and irregular mechanism generates unstable force-field bubbles before launching them towards the enemy.
The unusual barrel, exposed machinery and improvised construction make this configuration an excellent choice for collectors who want to emphasise the unpredictable nature of Ork technology.
Smasha gun
The smasha gun is based on crude force-field technology designed to seize and crush its targets.
Its heavy mechanical structure and large weapon assembly give the Mek Gun the appearance of a powerful artillery piece capable of directing tremendous force towards an unfortunate enemy.
Traktor kannon
The traktor kannon uses a powerful beam of force intended to catch airborne targets and drag them from the sky.
The specialised weapon components create a distinctive anti-aircraft silhouette and provide numerous technological details for painting and weathering.
Kustom mega-kannon
The kustom mega-kannon is a dangerous energy weapon capable of releasing tremendous destructive power, although its crude Ork construction makes it hazardous for the nearby crew as well as the intended target.
Its coils, mechanical housing and exposed energy systems provide excellent opportunities for glowing effects, scorched metal and signs of overheating.
Six-strong Grot crew
The Mek Gun is accompanied by six Grot crew models shown carrying equipment, operating machinery and assisting with the weapon.
Their varied poses and expressions add humour and narrative character to the set. They can be positioned around the gun to create a busy artillery emplacement or incorporated into a larger scenic display.
The small crew members provide a strong sense of scale and make the oversized weapon appear even more imposing.
Unmistakable Ork construction
The Mek Gun features riveted plates, exposed cables, rough welds, irregular mechanical components and numerous repairs.
Rather than appearing carefully manufactured, the weapon looks as though it has been assembled from scavenged machinery and whatever useful parts happened to be available.
This design makes the model particularly suitable for conversions, additional armour plates, spare Ork glyphs and other mechanical additions.
Detailed painting project
The combination of artillery machinery and Grot crew provides a wide range of painting possibilities.
The weapon is ideal for rusty metal, chipped Clan colours, soot, oil stains, heat damage and glowing energy effects. The crew adds green skin, worn cloth, leather and expressive faces to the project.
Each component can be heavily weathered to create the appearance of a field gun that has survived numerous battles, repairs and accidental explosions.
Background
Mek Gunz are powerful artillery pieces created by Ork Meks and operated by teams of Grots.
Each weapon is built according to the personal ideas of its creator, which means that no two examples need to look or function in exactly the same way.
The Grots responsible for operating these weapons are expected to load ammunition, maintain unstable systems and stand dangerously close while the Mek Gun is fired.
Despite their crude construction, Mek Gunz can unleash devastating firepower when their unpredictable machinery works as intended.
