Tyranids: Psychophage is a grotesque push-fit monster miniature driven by an insatiable hunger for psychic prey.
Product description
Add a disturbing Tyranid monstrosity to your Warhammer 40,000 collection. The Psychophage advances on six talon-tipped limbs, carrying its swollen body above the battlefield as it searches for fresh victims.
Its enormous multi-jawed mouth is filled with razor-sharp teeth and barbed tentacles. These biological structures allow the creature to seize, tear apart and consume its prey in a single violent attack.
The model is designed with a bulbous torso covered in digestive sacs, organic openings and spore-producing dorsal chimneys. Together, these features create one of the most unsettling silhouettes in the Tyranids range.
Push-fit assembly
The Psychophage is made from nine plastic components and uses push-fit construction.
The parts are designed to connect without plastic glue, making the miniature easier and faster to assemble while still offering a detailed centrepiece for painting and display.
Detailed organic design
The miniature features overlapping chitin plates, exposed flesh, digestive organs, hooked limbs, barbed tendrils and multiple rows of teeth.
Its large body provides excellent opportunities for contrasting skin and carapace colours, slime effects, digestive fluids, toxic spores and custom Hive Fleet markings.
The dorsal chimneys and open mouth can also be painted with glowing or atmospheric effects to emphasise the creature's unnatural biology.
Background
Psychophages are Tyranid organisms driven by a frenzied hunger for creatures touched by psychic energy.
They scuttle across the battlefield in search of psykers and other valuable prey, tearing victims apart with their jaws and feeding the remains into their swollen digestive systems.
As the consumed biomass is broken down, clouds of spores and corrosive biological matter pour from the chimneys along the creature's back.
Like every Tyranid organism, the Psychophage is a living weapon created by the Hive Mind to consume resistance and recycle all useful biological matter.
