Castellans serve as trusted battlefield commanders within the Black Templars. Acting as the right hand of a Marshal, they direct their battle-brothers, coordinate attacks and ensure that the wider goals of the crusade are carried out with discipline and uncompromising aggression.

This multipart plastic kit builds one Black Templars Castellan for Warhammer 40,000. The model is armed with a combi-flamer and a master-crafted power axe, giving him a striking combination of close-range firepower and an imposing melee weapon.

Castellans fulfil a command role comparable to that of Lieutenants in other Space Marine Chapters. They act beneath the authority of their Marshal, directing smaller formations and overseeing the immediate execution of the crusade's battle plan.

This responsibility allows the Marshal to concentrate on the wider campaign while the Castellan leads warriors at the most important points of the battlefield. He must demonstrate not only martial skill, but also the judgement and authority required to command the zealous battle-brothers of the Chapter.

Like all Black Templars leaders, a Castellan is expected to fight alongside his warriors. He does not remain distant from the violence, but advances with the crusade, setting an example through faith, aggression and personal courage.
